ABOUT LPFA

The primary objective of the Latvian Professional Footballers Association (LPFA) is to ensure the employment rights and interests of every Latvian footballer - each member of the LPFA - both domestically and in every country where they play. Currently, there is no organization in Latvia dedicated to protecting the rights of footballers. Therefore, the LPFA was established collaboratively by footballers and legal professionals to enhance the standards of the industry. Our organization works tirelessly to advocate for the rights of footballers, filling a crucial gap in the Latvian football landscape.

LEGAL MATTERS WE PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH

The Latvian Professional Footballers Association is committed to actively supporting players facing legal challenges, such as bullying and other issues encountered within their clubs.

Our association prioritizes safeguarding players' rights in the workplace and ensuring compliance with regulations, although this is not always guaranteed. Some of the key areas we have successfully addressed and continue to focus on include:

  • Matters related to playing contracts
  • Disciplinary concerns
  • Anti-doping cases
  • Employment-related issues
  • Agent contracts
  • Registration of image rights
  • Advisory services for personal injury claims
  • Handling criminal charges
  • Assistance with family law matters, property transactions, renting, and guidance on personal legal matters.

If you are a PFAS member experiencing any of these challenges, please contact us at info@lpfa.eu.

To access the benefits of the LPFA, including but not limited to access to resources, support services, and exclusive opportunities, kindly reach out to us via email at info@lpfa.eu to become a member.

Only by coming together can we ensure our voices are heard, making it impossible to ignore us. This will inevitably elevate the standards of professional ethics in Latvia, fostering greater professionalism in the interactions between football players and clubs, ultimately benefiting the entire industry.

Numerous footballers are unaware of their rights and lack the knowledge needed to defend them effectively. Nevertheless, a footballer should not have to confront such issues in isolation, as they are frequently experienced by their colleagues. It is crucial that they have access to support and resources, thereby preventing them from being left alone to navigate these challenges.
